“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” - 2 Timothy 1:7
Livingston Christian Schools students have submitted the last assignments for the 2019-20 school year, the teachers have graded them, report cards have been issued and summer vacation has officially begun. Congratulations to every student, parent, teacher, and support staff on the successful completion of what is sure to be remembered as the most unique school year in history.
The leadership of LCS is already busy at work to plan for the 2020-21 school year. It is with great confidence and 100% reliance on the will of God, who has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind, that the plan is for students to begin the school year in the classrooms at LCS@The Naz in Brighton on August 31, 2020 at 8 a.m. While much of the plan for 2020-21 will follow the same routine we always use, please be assured that it is with great diligence that we have and will continue to research and learn all we can about the laws, recommendations and data available to us about the health and safety of our school. We will continue to update the school’s health and safety plan as needed and will notify school families of the specifics as “opening day” approaches.
We are pleased with the success of LCS’ Online Instruction Days but look forward to returning to traditional, on-campus classes where students and teachers will interact, instruct, and fellowship in person. Some facets of the online program that proved organizationally and instructionally advantageous for students this spring may be incorporated by teachers into their classes this fall. We will also continue to offer the popular online dual enrollment program for students in eleventh and twelfth grades, but we recognize our families have chosen to attend LCS in part because of their desire for their children to learn in a traditional, live classroom. We are now better prepared for emergency situations, such as the one we experienced this spring and those we may face in the future. However, we look forward to seeing each student’s face on August 31.
