Our Schools Doctrinal Statement

Michigan Private Christian Education

We subscribe to the following basic Biblical teachings:

  1. We believe in one eternally existent, infinite God. We believe in the Trinity: God has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (II Corinthians 13:14; Galatians 4:4-6)
  2. We believe Jesus is divine and was fully God and fully man at the same time. (Matthew 1:20-25; Luke 1:26-35)
  3. We believe the Holy Spirit is active today, convincing the world of sin, giving new life to those who repent and believe, sanctifying believers, and guiding into all truth. (Romans 8:1-27; Galatians 3:1-14)
  4. We believe in the plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, and that they reveal the will of God in all matters of faith and salvation. (Luke 24:44-47; John 10:35)
  5. We believe salvation is grounded on Jesus’ sufferings, shedding of blood, and death on the cross, and resurrection. (Titus 2:11-14, Colossians 1:19-23)
  6. We believe man is morally responsible for his use of free will and that God never takes his freedom of choice away from him. (Romans 1:19-20; Romans 3:10-12)
  7. We believe repentance involves a sense of personal guilt and a voluntary turning away from sin. (Psalm 32:5-6; Luke 3:1-14)
  8. We believe that in salvation a person is seen by God as if he had never sinned, is given a new life beginning, and is adopted into God’s family. (Colossians 2:13; II Corinthians 5:17-21)
  9. We believe God gives a pure heart to those who are brought into complete devotion to God and that this work of God’s grace is complete sanctification. (Ephesians 4:17-5:20; II Timothy 2:19-22)
  10. We believe Jesus will come to earth again and those who are saved will go to live with Him eternally. (II Thessalonians 1:5-10; Matthew 25:31-46)
  11. We believe God will judge those who are not redeemed when Jesus returns. (II Corinthians 510; Romans 2:1-16; Acts 17:30-31)
  12. We believe communion is a sacrament that declares Jesus’ sacrificial death. (Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 10:14-24)
  13. We believe Christian Baptism demonstrates acceptance of Jesus as Savior and Lord. (Matthew 3:1-7; Colossians 2:12)
  14. We believe a person receives the fruit of the Spirit when he becomes a believer. We believe the gifts of the Spirit are given by God’s will alone. We believe no gift to be superior to any other. (Colossians 1:10; Galatians 5:22-26)
